The residents of Thabong in Qwaqwa Free State, took to the streets on Friday to vent their frustrations following a week of black out in the area.

Apparently the residents have gone without water and electricity for almost a week making life more difficult for them to survive.

A source told Letsohla that in the beginning the community was struggling with water shortage, but currently the issue is solved, even thou there still no electricity in the area.

“The people have gone without water and electricity for a week, but the issue of water is solved, now what they don’t have is electricity, that’s why they are striking.” A source said.

"The community was supposed to start an official strike on Monday, but some people in the community decided to strike today(Friday) instead.

The residents blocked the road that passes across Makeneng and into Thabong next to Sekoto River with stones and burning tyres, demanding that the councilor solve the problem.

More follow up as we try to contact Mr Matjele and other sources in the area.
