The community of Phuthaditjhaba in Qwaqwa, took to the street on Monday to demand that Mayor William Visimusi Tshabalala steps down following his misleadership in government.

Apparently the community has been struggling with the deficiency of water and electricity for almost four months now, while some government employees in the municipality have not received their monthly salaries since November last year a source said.

“The employees of the municipal have not been earning their salaries for the past 4 months and they have deposited their third party's money but they don't go there...so they are fighting.”

“Second one is service delivery people they are struggling with water and electricity.” The source said.

The enraged community members closed all the streets burning tyres including a butchery at Phuthaditjhaba BP Garage.

One twetter account has also attested that even a community radio ‘Qwaqwa radio’  has been closed down because of the unrest in the area.

The twitter also reported that no schools and business in the district of Maluti a phofung, Qwaqwa are currently operating.
